We are a family-owned and operated business in Oklahoma City, proudly serving our community for almost two decades. A Better Fence Construction was founded around 2007 by Levi Penner, who brought a strong work ethic and passion for precision fencing from his German Mennonite background. As a young boy in Belize, Levi learned the art of fence building alongside his father, where perfection was the goal—”seeing one post” down the line was the standard of excellence he upheld.
After Levi’s passing in 2018, Brad, who is married to Levi’s oldest daughter Martha, continued the family business. A U.S. Air Force veteran with over nine years of service as an avionics technician, Brad brought a detail-oriented approach to fence building. His military experience instilled a mindset of thoroughness and quality that translates into strong, straight fences our clients are proud to call their own.
INNOVATION IN FENCING
Levi’s innovative spirit lives on through TRUE LATCH, a product he invented to adjust sagging fences—a solution to an age-old problem in fence maintenance. This ingenious creation became the foundation for growing the business into a trusted name in the fencing industry. TRUE LATCH has helped countless customers extend the lifespan of their fences while maintaining structural integrity and appearance.
Him and his family kept growing TRUE LATCH year over year, which led them to sell the fence installation portion of their business to Jose. That way they could focus on continuing the product that Levi created. Brad and his family are still involved in the business, but Jose runs day to day operations.
NEW LEADERSHIP, SAME DEDICATION TO QUALITY
In 2024, Jose acquired A Better Fence Construction, bringing his extensive construction and engineering expertise to the company. Under his leadership, the business has expanded to include not only fencing but also construction and landscaping services, prompting the name change to A Better Fence, Construction & Landscaping. Jose now oversees daily operations, ensuring every project meets the high standards established by Levi and Brad.
The products and services offered have changed from the time Levi found ABFC, but the quality and customer service has not.
